Kava

Excessive drowsiness and impaired coordination; a report of coma with alprazolam.

Kratom

Additive sedation and respiratory depression; kratom is implicated in many overdose deaths.

Phenibut

Dangerous additive CNS and respiratory depression; risk of profound sedation and severe withdrawal.

Melatonin

Can add to drowsiness and sedation, increasing grogginess and impaired alertness.

Passionflower

Additive drowsiness and sedation; can slow the nervous system too much, impairing alertness and coordination.

Valerian Root

Additive drowsiness and sedation; can impair alertness and raise fall/accident risk.

Ashwagandha

May add to drowsiness and sedation when combined with CNS depressants.

Chamomile

May add to drowsiness; theoretical additive sedation when combined with sedative medicines.

GABA (supplement)

May add to drowsiness and sedation when combined with sleep medicines, benzodiazepines or alcohol.

Lavender (Silexan)

May add to drowsiness; theoretical additive sedation with sedative drugs, important before surgery/anesthesia.

Lemon Balm

May add to drowsiness and sedation when taken with sleep medicines, benzodiazepines or alcohol.
